BILLY intelligently categorises your transactions. Several situations may arise:

A. We are certain of the category

In this case, we apply the correct category. If it is an Expense with invoice, we link the corresponding invoice.

B. We are unsure of the category

If we have the slightest doubt, we will suggest a category to you.

⚠️ If you notice a categorisation error, please let us know via the chat. This will help us improve the system.

C. We cannot find any category

We were unable to find the category. It is therefore up to you to find it ✨

Belgian accounting is document-based. The income tax code specifies that an expense is deductible if it is supported by a justifying document (art. 49 ITC). Most of your expenses are therefore supported by invoices. In this case, the category to select is Expense with invoice. You will then need to link the corresponding invoice 👇🏻

For income, you select Income with invoice and then link the corresponding invoice.

If you have not imported an invoice for your income or expense, you have three options.

⛔ Only if you have not issued a sales invoice.

Otherwise, you will record the income twice: once via the sales invoice, and again via the payment categorisation.

The choice of expense categories is intentionally limited to avoid errors. We have included the categories for which there are generally no invoices.

The categories below have no impact on your income or expenses (and therefore on your result). This is a reminder classification to help you organise your accounts properly.
